Acceptance of these terms
Welcome to JoyMatrixe (the “Service”). These Terms of service (“Terms”) form the contract between you and JoyMatrixe (“we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your access to and use of joymatrixe.com and any related site, tool, page, or feature we publish.
By visiting the site, opening a tool, reading an essay, or sending us a message, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
Plain version. We offer educational wellbeing practices. We do not provide medical care. By using the site, you accept that distinction.
What JoyMatrixe is — and is not
JoyMatrixe is a small, independent wellbeing library. We publish self-guided breathing, grounding, sleep, and reflection practices, along with essays, articles, and a gentle conversational guide for difficult moments.
The Service is:
- Educational. Our tools teach skills that are well-established in stress research, mindfulness, and behavioural health.
- Self-guided. Everything runs in your browser or as text you can take with you.
- Optional. Nothing here is a task. You can put it down at any time.
The Service is not:
- A medical device, diagnosis, or treatment.
- A substitute for therapy, psychiatric care, or crisis support.
- A monitoring product, a coaching service, or a community platform.
- Suitable for use during a mental health emergency.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use JoyMatrixe. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, classroom, clinic, or another person, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
We do not knowingly direct the Service at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has interacted with us, please write to legal@joymatrixe.com and we will respond within five business days.
User rules and responsibilities
When you use JoyMatrixe, you agree that you will:
- Use the Service for personal, non-commercial reflection and learning, unless we have given written permission otherwise.
- Choose practices that feel safe for your body and circumstances.
- Stop any practice that causes discomfort, and seek professional help when you need it.
- Respect other readers in any future comment spaces we may add.
You agree that you will not:
- Use the Service to break any law, regulation, or contractual obligation that applies to you.
- Attempt to access the Service by means other than the interface we provide, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our infrastructure.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or target another person.
- Upload malicious code, automated traffic, or any content that infringes the rights of another party.
- Represent JoyMatrixe as a clinical, diagnostic, or emergency service.
Access, suspension and termination
JoyMatrixe does not currently offer personal accounts. You can use every tool on the site without registering. Where you choose to contact us by email, your message lives in our inbox — not in a profile attached to your name.
Because of this, the usual “close your account” flow does not apply. However, we may suspend or restrict your access to the Service at any time, with or without reason, if we reasonably believe that:
- You have breached these Terms.
- Your use of the Service is damaging the experience of other readers.
- We are required to do so by law, court order, or a competent regulator.
Where reasonably possible, we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Sections of these Terms that, by their nature, should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution — will survive any suspension or restriction.
You can stop at any time. You do not need our permission to stop using JoyMatrixe. Closing the tab is enough. If you have asked us to remember something, write to privacy@joymatrixe.com and we will delete it.
Intellectual property
The Service — including the design, layout, copy, illustrations, photographs, code, audio loops, and the selection and arrangement of these elements — is owned by JoyMatrixe and our licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, database, and design rights laws in the United Kingdom and internationally.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access JoyMatrixe for your personal, non-commercial wellbeing education. This license ends automatically when you stop using the Service or when we terminate it.
Our name, the JoyMatrixe wordmark, the leaf mark, and any other distinctive brand elements are our trademarks. You may not use them in connection with any product or service, or in any way that is likely to cause confusion, without our prior written permission.
If you would like to use our content in a classroom, clinic, talk, or printed collection, please write to partners@joymatrixe.com — we have a small sharing kit we are happy to send.
User content (where applicable)
Most of the Service works entirely in your browser, and the things you type into our tools stay with you. We do not currently host comments, reviews, or public posts.
If we add spaces where you can post, link, or otherwise make content available (“User Content”), you grant JoyMatrixe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share that content in connection with the Service. You keep ownership of what you write. You confirm that you have the right to share it, and that it does not breach anyone else’s rights.
We may remove User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or any law, with or without notice.
Third-party resources
From time to time, the Service may link to or mention third-party websites, research papers, books, or apps that we find useful. These are provided for your reference only.
We do not control, and we do not endorse, the content, products, or practices of any third party. Following an external link is your choice, and your responsibility. Please review the terms and privacy practices of any site you go to.
Health and safety disclaimer
JoyMatrixe is an educational wellbeing resource. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not designed to be used in place of care from a qualified clinician.
Always seek the advice of your doctor, therapist, or other qualified professional regarding any question you may have about a medical or mental health condition. Never disregard professional advice because of something you have read, watched, or practised on JoyMatrixe.
If you believe you may be in crisis, or that you may harm yourself or another person, please contact your local emergency service or crisis line first. Examples include (in the UK) calling 999 or the Samaritans on 116 123, or in the US calling or texting 988. A more complete list is kept on our Contact page.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or quiet enjoyment.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your particular needs. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any specific practice, essay, or AI-guided reflection.
In no event shall JoyMatrixe, its directors, employees, contributors, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, for death, or for personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JoyMatrixe and its team from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another party.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the change is meaningful, we will note it briefly on our contact page and by a small banner at the top of the site.
We will try to give at least 30 days’ notice before any material change takes effect. The most current version of these Terms will be available at joymatrixe.com/terms, along with a short note describing what changed in each update.
By continuing to use the Service after the revised Terms come into effect, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
Dispute resolution
We would always rather talk than litigate. If you have a concern about the Service or these Terms, please write to us first at legal@joymatrixe.com. We will read every message ourselves and reply within ten business days.
If we cannot resolve a concern informally within 60 days of your written notice, the remaining dispute will be settled by final and binding arbitration administered by the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), under its commercial rules then in force. The seat of arbitration will be London, the language will be English, and the tribunal will consist of one arbitrator.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking interim or injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect a right that would be lost or seriously prejudiced by the time arbitration could be arranged.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any matter that is not required to be referred to arbitration under section 14 above, including enforcement of any arbitral award. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
For our European readers. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection laws of that country.
